CHASING THE LIGHT is Jared Rabin's second Top 5 album at FAI Folk Radio in two years, reaching #3 in October of 2022. The lead off track, Tunnel's End won the Grand Prize for Folk in the 2023 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. This album showcases Jared’s growth as a thoughtful and focused songwriter, marking a great leap forward in the evolution of his unique musical voice. These songs find Jared focused, with an experienced perspective, digging deeper into universally relatable issues and emotions.

Jared produced, recorded and mixed CHASING THE LIGHT at his studio just outside of Chicago. Dan Kristan is featured on bass throughout the album, with contributions by Nashville road warrior Pat Lyons on dobro, and American Idol alum, vocalist Ren Patrick. Jared recorded all of the songs as demos, and gradually layered in replacement parts until they morphed into the tracks you hear on the album.

Jared began learning fiddle at age five from his grandfather, who was then First Chair violinist at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has since pursued a life in music and has traveled the world performing. He holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Composition, and his songwriting has been recognized by several international competitions. He’s been featured in American Songwriter, Bluegrass Today, and on NPR among others. He is a long time fixture on the Chicago music scene and can be found performing frequently in the area.
